Walk-in Centre (Soho)

Soho NHS Walk-in Centre provides a range of walk-in health services, including minor injuries (sprains, bites, minor burns, ear irrigation), contraceptive advice and emergency contraception. Contraception and other family services are not provided. Repeat prescriptions are also not provided – patient should contact GP practice.

  • Mon–Fri 08:00–20:00
  • Sat and Sun 10:00–20:00
  • Closes early at 17:00 on the first Thursday of every month
  • Do not provide dressing or ear irrigation after 16:00 each day

The clinic may reach maximum capacity to see patients and will have to cease registration. Advice and redirection to alternative services will be provided. It is advisable to call if you are planning to come after 18:00.‚Äč

For ear irrigation, patients need to have used topical softening drops for 7 days or more and been examined to exclude other causes for reduced hearing – other than cerumen impaction.


Eligibility criteria

Inclusions

Patients not seen if:

  • Under 16
  • Pregnant

For ear irrigation, patient not seen if:

  • Have signs of otitis externa or signs of otitis media
  • History of tinnitus, dizziness, vertigo, Meniere's disease or other vestibular disorders; TM perforations; cleft palate
  • Chronic deafness, unilateral or bilateral
  • Previous ear or mastoid surgery
  • Grommets in situ
  • Any history of complications during or following ear irrigation in the past
