Urgent referrals to see specialist on the two-week pathway. Referrals can be made for the following suspected cancers:
- central nervous system
- head and neck
- upper GI

When referring a patient...
- Please ensure they are aware of the urgency and reason for the referral and are available and willing to attend an appointment within two weeks.
- Please provide patient with the "Your right: Urgent two-week referral" letter or a patient leaflet about urgent referrals (see Downloads for both). Click here for patient information in other languages.
Urgent referrals for suspected cancer should be sent electronically, using the Pan-London Suspected Cancer Referral Forms (under Cancer Referral Forms Bundle).
Completed referral forms should be attached on e-Referrals and you must book the appointment with the preferred hospital (not via CCAS).
Referrals should not be faxed or emailed.
2WW gynae service referrals to the Royal Free Hospital are now triaged:
GP practices should book the appointment but not give the appointment details to the patient. Then the gynae department will triage the referral and contact the patient within two working days. please ensure you attach the 2WW referral form within 24 hours.
