London Central and West Unscheduled Care Collaborative (LCW) provides advice, information and treatment through the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) service for patients who become unwell during the out of hours period when their own GP surgery is closed.
The IUC service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patients who are able to should use the online assessment tool which will signpost them to local health services or provide a clinical call back if appropriate.
Alternatively, patients can access the service free from landlines and mobile phones by telephoning 111. This service is suitable for patients with urgent medical help or advice when it is not life-threatening.
GP Out-of-Hours provides patients with access to primary care for urgent health problems when their GP surgery is closed at night or over the weekend.
If a patient accesses the IUC service, the GP practice will receive two types of messages – primary and copy – within the Document Management section in Workflow Manager (EMIS Web). More information on these messages can be found in the Downloads section.
