Urgent eye clinic at the Royal Free Hospital.

Open Mon–Fri 9am-4:15pm and Sat–Sun 10am-2:15pm. Emergencies are seen in Clinic 3 on first floor. 

Walk-ins not available. Patients wishing to be seen must be referred.


How to refer

Letter

Referral methods: e-Referral

If the patient needs to be seen within 24–48 hours: the emergency eye doctor should be bleeped – GPs should call 020 7794 0500 x33625 bleep 1758. This can be done via switch. 

If the patient needs to be seen within 2–4 weeks please send a referral letter via the e-Referral system.

If you are not sure if it is urgent or emergency please contact the emergency eye doctor and discuss. 
 

Walk-ins not available, but patients can turn up to A&E at any time.

If out of clinic hours patients are seen by the eye doctor who is on call.
