Audiology Assessments in Camden are provided by UCLH, RFH, Specsavers, Scrivens and InHealth. Referral routes are different for over 50s and under 50s.

  • Please refer under 50s using the Audiology Assessment RF or RNTNE Under-50s Referral Form
  • Please refer over 50s to the AQP Audiology service using the Audiology Assessment London Hearing AQP Over-50s Referral Form​. To arrange a home visit for house-bound patients please fax a referral letter to Scrivens (0121 456 8701).

Eligibility criteria


  • No ear wax partially occluding or blocking the ear canals (partially occulding wax prevents taking of impressions for hearing aids)
  • No abnormal appearance of the outer ear or the eardrum, including middle ear fluid
  • No aural discharge or otalgia lasting >7 days in the last 90 days
  • No sudden (less than 7 days) or rapid (90 days or less) loss or deterioration of hearing
  • No fluctuating hearing loss, other than associated with colds
  • No noticeable asymmetry in hearing
  • No unilateral, pulsatile or distressing tinnitus (e.g. causes sleep disturbance, anxiety or depression)
  • No vertigo, including spinning or floating sensations
  • No complete or partial obstruction of the external auditory canal

How to Refer EMIS Forms

GP referral for patients under 50 – complete Audiology Assessment RF or RNTNE Under-50s Referral Form and send via e-Referral system.

GP referral for patients over 50 – complete the Audiology Assessment London Hearing AQP Over-50s Referral Form and send via e-Referral system.
