If there are exceptional clinical circumstances for a treatment or drug to be provided that the CCG does not usually fund, cases should be referred to the Individual Funding Request (IFR) Panel using the IFR Application Form. See the Individual Funding Request Policy for how decisions are made. The panel meets monthly. Requests are not accepted directly from patients.
From 1st February 2020 the NEL IFR team will require clinical applicants to submit all IFR applications online via the Blueteq system. The main objective is to simplify and streamline the application process and ensure that applicants provide only the relevant information required for proposed interventions to help the IFR panel arrive at a funding decision.
Until 1 February please apply using the application form and send to email@example.com.
Before making an application please see the IFR application process in the Downloads section.
Note that all applications need to clearly show that patient consent has been obtained. Without this, the IFR team are unable to accept referrals and these will be returned.
Online IFR Application Form
The online application will significantly reduce processing time of applications and give the opportunity for applicants to track in real time the progress of their applications online. To complete an application the clinical applicant simply needs to log into the site, check boxes, provide relevant information where prompted and upload any supporting documentation.
Applicants are expected to commence use of online applications as soon as practical as other forms and methods of submission will no longer be accepted from 1st March 2020.
