With immediate effect, the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead will no longer be accepting direct access referrals from GPs for patients with infectious diseases and HIV. This measure has been put in place as part of capacity planning work around the UK preparedness for the treatment of patients who test positive for Coronavirus.

Should you need to make a referral, the below Trusts provide the following services:

  • UCH – HIV and infectious diseases
  • North Middlesex – HIV only
  • Whittington – Infectious diseases only

There are also some referral routes to providers outside of NCL:

  • London North West Hospitals Trust (Northwick Park) – HIV and infectious diseases
  • Barts Health (The Royal London) – HIV and infectious diseases
  • Imperial – HIV and infectious diseases
