Tavistock & Portman Clinic is providing clinican led training for clinical staff working with long-term conditions in primary care or community settings. As part of this initative, they will run an afternoon training on October 11th, 2019.  If you are unable to make this training on October 11th, you can register your interest for the organizers to host a training at your practice, hospital or community setting. Sessions in your practice, hospital or community setting will last between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Register your interest for a session here.

What will be covered:

  • Barriers to talking about mental health in brief consultations
  • Talking straightforwardly about the links between  minds and bodies
  • Discussing a referral for psychological support

The material is applicable to patients with diagnosed physical conditions such as diabetes, COPD and coronary heart disease, and also to patients who suffer with persistent physical symptoms.

You can contact project lead Emma Grindrod by emailing EGrindrod@Tavi-Port.nhs.uk or calling 07753317950 with additional questions.
