Travel Health, Practice Staff Diversity Training & Cancer NICE Guidelines Event

Travel Health: Tuberculosis, tropical medicine and infectious diseases

This session was run by the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, UCLH and the NCL south hub TB clinic based at the Whittington 

The session covered some important areas around controlling the TB epidemic in London, recognising cases early in primary care, highlighting local services and how they integrate with primary care; and sharing the strategy and evolving pathway for new entrant screening in primary care 

Common infectious conditions in the returning traveller and in migrants wa also covered; some important recent outbreaks that might be encountered in primary care; how to access our services for the returning traveller but also rapid access for any patient with suspected infection. 

It was an interactive session, case- and problem-based, with contributions from our consultant and nursing staff.
