Training: Supporting Mental Health in Patients with Long Term Conditions

**This event has been cancelled. Please contact the team at workforce@tavi-port.nhs.uk to schedule a training directly.**

This training, delivered by clinicians from the Tavistock & Portman Clinic and local Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services, seeks to support you in thinking about the links between physical and mental health in the management of patients with long term conditions.

What will be covered:

  • Barriers to talking about mental health in brief consultations
  • Talking straightforwardly about the links between  minds and bodies
  • Discussing a referral for psychological support

The material is applicable to patients with diagnosed physical conditions such as diabetes, COPD and coronary heart disease, and also to patients who suffer with persistent physical symptoms.

If you are unable to make this training on October 11th, you can register your interest for the organizers to host a training at your practice, hospital or community setting.
