GP Practice Safeguarding Adult Leads Network Session

Dear Practice Safeguarding Adults Leads,

We would like to invite you to a network session on 14 June 2018 12:00-14:00 in the MDT room at South Camden Health Centre.

The aims of the session will be the identification and response to particular forms of exploitation in adults. This will include:

  • Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking – to gain knowledge what is involved in slavery and trafficking, the legislation, signs and symptoms shown in adult victims and the range of support that can be offered
  • Extremism – to develop an understanding of vulnerabilities to involvement and/or recruitment in to violent extremism and relevant legislation
  • Challenges and available solutions – to explore barriers to supporting people in these circumstances and the options that are currently open to professionals and patients

This training meets the Draft Level 3 Adult Safeguarding training competencies and the NHS Level 3 Prevent Training.

We aim to use case discussion to achieve some of the learning points and you are invited to bring along examples of your own for peer discussion - along with your lunch. Cold drinks will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you, or a representative from your practice, and ask you to book on as soon as possible to register for this event.

Best wishes,

Dee Hora and Vikki Gray
