Obesity/Healthy Weight Training — Afternoon

Tuesday, 10th March 2020 / 2.00pm

Are you confident that you are effectively and successfully supporting your patients/clients to achieve healthy weight?
What is being done elsewhere in Primary/Community care?

Two out of three UK adults and one in three 11-year old children are living with overweight or obesity with adverse effects on their physical and psychological health. Conversations about weight should be a routine part of every contact with health and social care professionals but unfortunately weight often remains a taboo topic. This session will provide you with skills to discuss weight.

Topics will include:

  1. Let’s talk about weight: A step-by step guide to conversations about healthy weight.
  2. Language matters: The adverse health effects of weight stigma and how to reduce this.
  3. Signposting young people and adults to the appropriate services and what interventions are effective.

Please book this session via our online booking form on Eventbrite.
