Integrated community CKD and HTN training — Morning

Thursday, 24th January 2019 / 9.00am

Chronic kidney disease and hypertension are common and under recognised, it is estimated that 28.5% of people living with CKD in Camden are undiagnosed and estimated that around 8% of the population over 40 years of age suffer from CKD. Hypertension is probably the single most important modifiable risk factor to reduce cardiovascular death in developed countries and is also a major contributor to stroke, which is increasingly common in adults between 40 to 60. This results in substantial morbidity and dependency. Improved management of hypertension is associated with reduced incidence of these major cardiovascular pathologies and reduced incidence of dialysis dependence. Camden has comissioned an integrated CKD and Hypertension service. Today is a chance to hear more about the service, management of this patient group and meet the specialist team.
