Adult Safeguarding

This Adult Safeguarding session will include learning for general practice from recent Safeguarding Adult Reviews and will meet your level 3 learning as set out in the new Intercollegiate Document for Adults.

This event is part of the series of sessions supporting the identification and response to particular forms of exploitation in adults. Focus on this occasion will be modern slavery and human trafficking.

Case discussion will be used to support learning – please bring along relevant examples of your own for peer discussion along with your lunch. Coffee, tea and water will be provided.

Guest speaker: Dr Jane Hunt Senior (Medical Advisor, Helen Bamber Foundation).

Learning objectives:

  • To develop knowledge to identify and respond to victims of modern slavery or trafficking who present in general practice    
  • To improve awareness of pathways to refer and support victims of modern slavery and human trafficking
  • To develop knowledge of the National Referral Mechanism and services to signpost those affected for information, advice and support.
  • To identify the challenges and potential solutions to identification and response through case studies
